111. Antarctica is a no-fly zone so no-one discovers that the South Pole does not exist

"Since the North Pole and Antarctica are covered in ice and guarded “no-fly” zones, no ships or planes have ever been known to circumnavigate the Earth in North/South directions. The only kind of circumnavigation which could not happen on a flat-Earth is North/Southbound, which is likely the very reason for the heavily-enforced flight restrictions. The fact that there has yet to be a single verified North/South circumnavigation of Earth serves as standing proof the world is not a ball."

More lies from Dubay

The existence of the South Pole causes a real problem for flat Earth believers, so it is not surprising that denying its existence repeatedly and loudly and fabricating reasons why no-one can ever go and check is number one on their to-do list.

Although flat earthers will always claim they are fake, there HAVE been verified circumnavigations of the globe via the poles

Antarctica is guarded by "no-fly zones" and "heavily-enforced flight restrictions".

There are NO flight restrictions.

Qantas flight QF63/QF64 from Johannesburg to Sydney flies over the edge of Antarctica and can be seen to do so by the passengers.   See this YouTube video taken by a passenger.


If the flat Earth map was correct this would be a massive detour.  However it is true that flights avoid flying over the middle of the Antarctic because of the following reasons:

  • Internationally agreed rules ban twin engine planes for safety reasons
  • International rules means that aircraft must carry extra safety equipment which reduces the seats that they can have
  • Wind patterns mean that it is often faster to fly around Antarctica.

This is a claim that you can test.  You can book flights over Antarctica to see for yourself.

The fact that, if this was how reflections worked, that the same would be true on a flat Earth seems to have escaped Dubay's notice. Debunking Eric Dubay's 200 proofs the earth is not a spinning ball

Conspiracy Baloney aims to provide resources to counter to the influence of the crazy anti-science conspiracy theories that are out there. This blog is specifically to debunk Eric Dubay's " 200 proofs the earth is not a spinning ball", that I have found flat earthers often cite. There are quite a few resources out there that comprehensively debunk this book, but I think that one more voice can only help.  I have tried to keep the rebuttals as non technical as possible. Eric Dubay’s proofs are laughably simplistic and demonstrate an almost complete lack of understanding of maths and anything scientific or technical.
