Taking this step by step for Mr Dubay .... Yes, the tangential speed of the Earth and runway (at the equator) is over 1000 mph, BUT as the “proof” admits, so is the atmosphere. The plane is flying within the moving atmosphere.  A plane flying at the typical landing speed of say 160 miles per hour, is flying at 160 miles per hour relative to the atmosphere whichever direction it is facing. Because the atmosphere is moving with the ground and runway (i.e. both at over 1000 miles per hour) this means that the plane is flying at 160 miles per hour relative to the groun...
