Presumably Dubay believes that god has covered the Moon with lights and is selectively switching some of them on and off over the course of the month to create a nice curvy shape for us to admire like a celestial Christmas decoration.  What a shame he/she didn’t make it a little less ambiguous, maybe a multi coloured Santa’s sleigh. ...
