16. The experiment known as Airy’s failure proves the stationary geocentric model

“The experiment known as “Airy’s Failure” proved that the stars move relative to a stationary Earth and not the other way around. By first filling a telescope with water to slow down the speed of light inside, then calculating the tilt necessary to get the starlight directly down the tube, Airy failed to prove the heliocentric theory since the starlight was already coming in the correct angle with no change necessary, and instead proved the geocentric model correct.”

This is an shameless outright lie, quoting science out of context with the intention of deceiving.

The experiment known as “Airy’s failure” was an attempt to prove the existence of “Aether” which at one time scientists proposed filled space and was the medium through which light propagated (like waves through water).  It failed to do this.  The result of the experiment could only be explained if one of the following two statements was true.

a. That Aether does not exist
b. That Aether does exist and the Earth is stationary.

There are NO experiments that prove that Aether exists and Einstein’s theory of special relativity has taken its place and consistently been proved correct.  As Aether does not exist the experiment does NOT prove that the Earth is stationary.

Flat Earthers of course choose to ignore the evidence and maintain that Aether does exist, citing the Michealson-Gale experiment (1925), in order to claim that Airy's failure proves that the Earth is stationary.

However, again they are mis-representing the conclusion of the experiment. The results are consistent with two possible conclusions.

a. That Aether does not exist and Einstein's theory of special relativity is correct
b. That Aether does exist and Earth experiences an Aether wind. I.e. That the Aether is stationary and that the Earth moves through the Aether.

If you believe that this experiment shows that Aether exists you must also accept that the Earth is not stationary which is inconsistent with Flat Earther belief. However Flat Earthers do what they always do .... take science out of context and ignore the bits of the experiment they do not like.

To wrap this up completely Michealson himself had already ruled out the existence if a stationary Aether years earlier in the Michealson-Morley experiment (1887).  That leaves Einstein's special relativity as the only option.

Once again this exposes the extreme dishonesty of Flat Earthers who quote science experiments to justify their arguments and then completely ignore the conclusions of the very scientists who conducted the experiments.  They are simply trying to fool the gullible by quoting things out of context.
