167. The thermosphere is too hot for satellites to survive in orbit there
"Satellites are allegedly floating around in the thermosphere where temperatures are claimed to be upwards of 4,530 degrees Fahrenheit. The metals used in satellites, however, such as aluminum, gold and titanium have melting points of 1,221, 1,948, and 3,034 degrees respectively, all far lower than they could possibly handle."

Does not understand how temperature in a gas works (To be fair neither did I until I looked it up)
Temperature of a gas is defined as
“The temperature of a gas is a measure of the average translational kinetic energy of the molecules.”
The thing to understand about the thermosphere is that the atmosphere is very very thin. I.e. There are very few molecules. So even though the air molecules have a high temperature (i.e. each molecule has a lot of energy) the overall energy in a given volume is relatively low.
Think of it this way ... If you heat up a frying pan filled with oil and the hot oil spits so that a drop lands on your arm, no serious harm will occur because even though the oil is very hot there is very little of it on your arm. However you would not want to empty the whole frying pan of oil on your arm. The temperature of the oil is the same, but the extra volume will give you serious burns.
So in the thermosphere there is not enough atmosphere to melt anything.
This illustrates a recurring issue with flat earthers. They do not understand enough science to interpret the things that science says so the conclusions that they come to are wrong.
Instead, they should ask a scientist to interpret the information for them, and understand that the scientist’s conclusions hold more weight than their own because scientists actually understand this stuff. There is so much good quality science available on the Internet now a days that there is no excuse for their self imposed ignorance.
If you are not educated in science you are not qualified to reach conclusions based on scientific data. Scientists study for years for a reason.
I'd also like to draw your attention to the absurd mental hoops flat earthers have to jump through to maintain this idea that scientist, and NASA in particular, are trying to keep the truth about flat Earth from us.
In this example of the temperature of the thermosphere we are supposed to believe that scientists who want to pretend that satellites and space travel is possible also decided to publish information about the temperature of the thermosphere that makes satellites and space travel impossible. Why would they do that?
They can't all be incapable of applying a little bit of logic surely.
