71. Sightings of the Chicago skyline from across Lake Michigan cannot be a mirage as claimed
”It is often possible to see the Chicago skyline from sea-level 60 miles away across Lake Michigan. In 2015 after photographer Joshua Nowicki photographed this phenomenon several news channels quickly claimed his picture to be a “superior mirage,” an atmospheric anomaly caused by temperature inversion. While these certainly do occur, the skyline in question was facing right-side up and clearly seen unlike a hazy illusory mirage, and on a ball-Earth 25,000 miles in circumference should be 2,400 feet below the horizon.”
Dubay lies about mirages having to be upside down and about no haziness being observed
Firstly I'd like to thank Dubay for confirming that superior mirages "certainly do occur". Flat earthers in general do not like to admit that refraction/superior mirages can cause objects beyond the horizon to be visible.
However his implication that superior mirages must be inverted is another lie. They can be, but they are not always inverted.
Here are some examples of superior mirages that are the "right way up".
As for the claim that the image of Chicago was "clearly seen unlike a hazy illusory mirage" just look at the series of time lapse photos of Chicago over Lake Michigan also taken by Joshua Nowicki. They clearly show Chicago exhibiting mirage like qualities.
