22. Felix Baumgartner’s high altitude balloon jump would end with him landing in the Pacific Ocean if the earth were rotating

“If Earth were truly constantly spinning Eastwards at over 1000mph, during the Red Bull stratosphere dive, Felix Baumgartner, spending 3 hours ascending over New Mexico, should have landed 2500 miles West into the Pacific Ocean but instead landed a few dozen miles East of the take-off point.”

Dubay does not understand that the atmosphere rotates with the Earth’s rotation

As a whole the Earth’s atmosphere rotates with the Earth so the calculations in this proof are worthless.

An analogous situation would occur if you put a glass of water with ice cubes on a turntable and spin it, initially the water and ice would remain stationary.  However if you keep spinning the glass, the circular momentum of the glass is transferred to the water and the water and ice will eventually be spinning at the same speed as the glass.  The same is true of the atmosphere and the earth, and the earth has been spinning a long time.

You should also note that Dubay now also requires Red Bull to be in on the global conspiracy.  The list of conspirators continues to grow,
