Eric Dubay is an idiot

If you are going to believe theories that contradict those of scientists with years of study and training behind them you should at the very least pick theories put forward by someone smart.

Unfortunately Dubay repeatedly demonstrates that he is not that smart.  Below are some of his "proofs" that demonstrate this very well.

Eric Dubay is very confused about elevation above sea level on a spherical Earth.

In his mind Dubay sees the curve of a spherical Earth and then treats it as if it is a hill on a flat Earth. Imagine a line from one location on Earth to another. In Dubay's mind he sees the mid point on spherical Earth as being a “hump” above the line. Eric Dubay thinks that this hump is equivalent to elevation and that you would need to travel up hill as you move over the "hump"

Eric Dubay thinks that the distances recorded for Antarctic explorations represent travel in simple circle

Dubay obviously imagines that the explorers travelled in a perfect circles. It is like he imagines Captain Cook taking part in a leisure cruise instead of navigating uncharted waters, battling the unknown winds and the tides, dealing with storms, and having to replenish supplies etc. Ah Bless.

Dubay gets very mixed up about the Geographic, Magnetic and Geomagnetic poles

He seems to think that you can locate the Georgraphic Pole with a compass, talks about the Geomagentic pole when he means the Magnetic Pole and states that the South Pole has never been located even though scientists place an actual pole there every year

Dubay talks utter gibberish about clocks having to flip 12 hours on a spherical Earth

Some nonsense about if the Earth were to jump instantly to the other side of the Sun the parts of the Earth that were day would instantly become night and visa versa and that this somehow proves the Earth can't be circling the Sun.

Sunlight and moonlight have different magical properties!

The Sun’s light is golden, warm, drying, preservative and antiseptic, while the Moon’s light is silver, cool, damp, putrefying and septic. The Sun’s rays decrease the combustion of a bonfire, while the Moon’s rays increase combustion. Dubay really is an imbecile to repeat this magic nonsense.

If the Earth was a spinning ball stars would be seen to travel more or less horizontally across the observer’s horizon

I can't even imagine what bizarre geometry Dubay is trying to explain in this proof. Complete and utter nonsense.

Dubay takes some geography professors tongue in cheek proof that Kansas is flatter than a pancake as proof of a flat Earth

This proof is either Dubay wilfully mis-representing a joke to try and back up his ridiculous views ... or evidence that he is just to stupid to recognise the joke for what it is

Dubay gets confused about jet engines and rocket engines

Dubay seems to think that jet engines are a type of rocket engine and that they work on similar principles. They do not. He also misunderstands how rocket engines work and presumably is incapable of educating himself about them before he puts his nonsense on paper.

Dubay puts forward a theory that there are for imaginary brakes slowing the Earth's spin

Dubay also tries to sound clever by invoking the second law of thermodynamics, which is ironic since he generally dismisses what scientists have to say. Unfortunately he doesn’t understand enough science to use appropriate words
