120. The word planet comes from the Latin "planum" meaning flat, level, even ...

"The etymology of the word “planet” actually comes from late Old English planete, from Old French planete (Modern French planete), from Latin planeta, from Greek planetes, from (asteres) planetai “wandering (stars),” from planasthai “to wander,” of unknown origin, possibly from PIE *pele “flat, to spread” or notion of “spread out.” And Plane (n) “flat surface,” c. 1600, from Latin planum “flat surface, plane, level, plain,” planus “flat, level, even, plain, clear.” They just added a “t” to our Earth plane and everyone bought it."

And?   But it does demonstrate yet again his willingness to lie.

First, what has the origin of the word to do with anything?  The word Muscle derives from the Latin “musculus" meaning little mouse.  Perhaps Eric Dubay also believes that we have mice living under our skin but doctors have been conspiring with the mice for years to keep it from us, or that the Roman's trained their pet mice to work out in the gym.

Second, although Dubay initially gives the correct origin of the word Planet, presumably as a tactic to get some credibility, he then follows up with another blatant lie claiming that the word is also derived from the Latin word Planum meaning flat surface, plane or level .  It isn’t.

Why would he say this when it is so easy for anyone to check?  The only possibilities that I can think of are

1. Eric Dubay is a compulsive liar.
2. Eric Dubay thinks his audience is stupid
3. Both of the above
